The Role of Transformational Leadership Dimensions in the Success of Implementing Total Quality Service: A Field Study on Aleppo University Hospitals

This research aims to study the transformational leadership dimensions (idealized –charismatic Influence, self-motivation, individualized consideration, intellectual stimulation) and their role in the success of total quality service implementation (top management commitment, customer satisfaction, employees satisfaction, Service environment, service culture, benchmarking, continuous improvement). The study is applied on a sample formed of (120) persons who work at Aleppo university hospitals of two positions, 71 doctors and 49 administrators.
The results of the study can be summarized as follows:
1. There are significant direct impact of transformational leadership dimensions (idealized-charismatic Influence, self-motivation, individualized consideration, and intellectual stimulation) on the total quality service.
2. There are significant differences regarding the employees’ perception (doctors, administrators) at Aleppo university hospitals of transformational leadership dimensions in light of age, academic qualification, years of experience.
Finally, the researcher recommends that the administration of Aleppo university hospitals should promote the spirit of cooperation among the staff through holding conferences and seminars. Furthermore, the study recommends the promotion of the culture of transformational leadership along with its dimensions through training programs directed towards the staff (doctors, administrators).
