Abstract

The present study aimed at examining the perspective of a sample of professors, who occupy administrative posts at the University of M’Sila, towards the requirements for improving the international academic ranking of Algerian universities. The sample consisted of 46 professors who received a questionnaire composed of 37 indicators, distributed over three dimensions. These dimensions are, human resources requirements (10 indicators) , physical requirements (10 indicators) and academic and administrative requirements (17 indicators) .
The results of this study showed that the sample’s evaluation of the requirements under the three dimensions indicated their great importance. This clearly shows that these requirements are fundamental indicators that should be addressed and embedded by the Algerian universities in their strategic plans, in order to improve their international academic rankings. In light of these findings, several recommendations were proposed, the most important of which is the upgrade of the University’s official website.
