The Requirements of Administrative Empowerment among Heads of the Department at Al - Azhar University, and its Relation to the Effectiveness of their Decision - making Process

The study aimed at identifying the requirements of the administrative empowerment among the heads of the departments at Al - Azhar University and its relation to the effectiveness of their decision - making process. To achieve the objectives of the study the researcher used the analytical descriptive approach. The study sample consisted of all the heads of the departments at Al - Azhar University. A simple random sampling method was used and included all the components of the actual population of the study. The study was applied on them 100% using comprehensive survey method. The questionnaire was used as a main tool for data collection.
The study concluded:
1. The level of the availability of the administrative empowerment’s requirements among the heads of departments at Al - Azhar University showed to be medium with a relative weight of (60.66%) .
2. The level of the effectiveness of the decision - making process among the heads of the departments at Al- Azhar University showed to be medium with a relative weight of (68.00%) .
3. There is a statistically significant correlation between the level of the availability of the administrative empowerment requirements and the effectiveness of decision - making process among the heads of the departments at Al - Azhar University in Gaza. In light of the results obtained, the study recommends the following:
1. Developing clear indicators to familiarize the heads of the departments with the approaches of utilizing administrative empowerment.
2. Stressing on the importance of making effective administrative decision - making process through increasing the number of the courses that help the heads of departments in their work at Al - Azhar University.
