The Role of Administrative Empowerment in Improving the Institutional Military Medical Services- Southern Governorates

The study aimed to identify the role of the dimensions of administrative empowerment in improving the institutional performance of military health institutions in medical services. To achieve the objectives of the study, the descriptive analytical method was used. The study population consisted of 797 employees, a stratified random sample of 259 employees was selected with response rate that amounted to 92.5%. The Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) was used for data analysis. The study reached several results, the most important of which are: The level of availability of the administrative empowerment and institutional performance was generally medium. The dimensions of empowerment affect positively the institutional performance and explain 56.8% of the variance, except delegation dimension, which did not have any effect. There was no statistically significant difference between the average of respondents’ opinions on administrative empowerment and also institutional performance due to gender, age, qualifications, and years of service, except for the qualification variable. There were significant differences for the administrative empowerment due to the qualification for favor to less than diploma. The most important recommendations were as follows: To empower workers by all means to provide them with adequate powers and to provide effective means of communication for the exchange of information and the use of modern means to suit the requirements of the times.
