The Impact of the Big Five Personality Traits and Independency on Job Involvement

The aim of this study is to explore the impact of the salient five personality
traits and autonomy on job involvement. Using a sample that consisted of
(166) managers of Yarmouk Water Company in Irbid, Jordan and applying
Stepwise Multiple Regression, Multiple Regression, and Simple Regression,
the study showed that personality characteristics influence job involvement
of the manager’s working in Yarmouk Water Company. It also showed that
extraversion, emotional stability, and openness to experience had an effect
on job involvement. Both extraversion and emotional stability had a positive
influence on the levels of job involvement, while openness to experience had
a negative influence. The study proves that autonomy had a positive influence
on job involvement
