Manpower at the Northern Border University and the Level of Use of Modern Technology Tools: An Empirical Study

Abstract

This study investigates the use of modern technology among the

workforce of the Northern Border University in the Saudi ArabiaThe study

used a descriptive methodologyThe sample size was 315, males were (71%)

, and females were (29%) The males represent (78%) , (53%) , and (58%)

for the three branches Arar, Rafha and Tarif, respectively, whereas the

females represent (22%) , (47%) and (42%) for each of the Arar and Rafha

and Tarif, respectivelyTo measure the gender diversity in the three branches

of the university (Gini Index for heterogeneity) was usedThe results showed

that the less gender diversity was found in the branch of Arar (Gini Index

at 68%) , whereas a full diversity found in Rafha and semi - full in Tarif

(Gini Index at 100% and 98%) , respectivelyAt the university level the Gini

Index of diversity was at (82%) The results showed that the status of the

use of modern technology among the university workers was acceptable to

some extentWhereas (52) of non - secondary qualifications holders did not

use technology at allAccordingly, the study recommends establishment of

enabling environment that encourages the use of technology.
