Feasibility of Producing Black Treacle of Apple as a Marketing And Economic Alternative of Poor Quality Fruits Losses In Suwayda

This research aims to study the reality of black treacle of apple as a
secondary production, and estimating the proportion of production losses
in the apple orchards and the factors which affect it in Syrian Suwayda
Government during the season 2013.
The methodology which was used in this study included descriptive and
quantitative analysis to reach goalsA sample of 50 farmers who product the
black treacle of apple, and other 50 farmers who do not, have been interviewed
to collect the requested data.
The results showed that the proportion of the production losses was
amounted about 16% of total production, and the black treacle of apple
production gave a net profit which was amounted 223.54 SP/ kg, and about
82% of profitability for one SP, thus it may constitute a better alternative
product in comparison with other ways of apple losses marketingHowever, the
producers still face many marketing, manufacturing and logistics difficulties.
