Abstract

The research aims to identify the role of job enrichment with its dimension: Skill variety, autonomy, and feedback on the administrative employees working in the Jordanian customs department in Aqaba City. The research population comprises all the administrative employees of Aqaba Customs Department with a total number of 213 employees. The researcher adopted the descriptive analytical approach; a questionnaire was distributed to a random sample of 138 employees, the number of returned questionnaires was 131 with a response rate of 94.9%. The data was analyzed using SPSS.
The most important results were: There was a statistically significant effect between the dimensions of job enrichment, both individual and combined, and job performance of administrative employees in the customs department in Aqaba City. The evaluation degree of job enrichment in the customs department in Aqaba and the performance of administrative employees came at a high level with a mean of 3.79. The most important recommendations were: Considering the job enrichment dimensions when creating new jobs or changing the existing hierarchy in the customs, conducting similar research on the impact of job enrichment on the employee performance by studying other variables that were not addressed in the current research, such as the identity of the task and the importance of the task.
