This study aimed at exploring the reality of
maintaining the human capital in the Algerian
economic organization, and its relation with
knowledge management. The case study was applied
at the Cables Industry Organization- Branch of
General Cable Biskra- . Questionnaire was used
to collect data from a sample of (125) executives
from the bottom, middle and top management,
and (87) questionnaires were restored to analyze
data with the use of “SPSS” V. 19. The study
findings revealed that the organization is aware
of maintaining its human capital, and the level of
applying knowledge management is high. Findings
also confirmed a statistically significant correlation
between maintaining the human capital and its
sub- dimensions (motivation, health, decreasing
the chances of work alienation) and knowledge
management, but the empowerment dimension
is excluded because the study findings showed no
correlation between it and knowledge management.
