This study aims to highlight the most important
reasons that engage the Algerian economic firms
in an effort to obtain the certification of Quality
Management System (ISO 9000) , and its impact on
their performance according to four dimensions:
productivity , non- quality costs , sales and market
share. To illustrate this relationship, an exploratory
study has been done on a sample of 40 Algerian
economic firms. The results showed that there
is the impact of external motivation from the
adoption of quality management system ISO 9000
on the development of the overall performance
of the institutions under study, unlike the internal
