Effectiveness of Utilizing Strategies of Brain Storming, Mental Mapping, And Generative Learning on the Academic Achievements of 9th Graders, their Metacognition, and Attitudes towards Islamic Education.

This study aimed to identify the impact of the use of strategies
(brainstorming, mind maps, generative learning) in educational attainment
of students in ninth grade, the development of their thinking skills and
attitudes toward learning the concepts of the Islamic faith. The study sample
consisted of 99 students, which has been distributed on three classes in
Abu Dhar al-Ghafari School in Jerash, academic year 2013/2014. The tool
used consisted of achievement test, a test to measure thinking skills, and
a test to measure attitudes. The results showed the existence of statistical
differences between the study groups on achievement test for the benefit of
brainstorming strategy, with an average (31.57) and in favor of mental maps
strategy in achievement test with an average (25.74). There is the presence
of statistically significant differences on a scale on cognitive thinking skills
in favor of generative learning strategy, with an average (13.82) and in favor
of brainstorming strategy to measure students' attitudes toward learning the
unity about Islamic faith, with an average (16.52). The study recommended
the need to teach the concepts of the Islamic faith in the light of the principles
of brainstorming strategy.
