The Role of the Fundamental Principals in the Development of Creativity Among Teachers from the Assistant Directors› Viewpoint

The aim of the study is to reveal the fundamental role of school principals
in the development of creativity among teachers from assistant directors›
viewpoint in the Education Directorate in Irbid.
The study population consisted of (164) who are all assistant directors
during the academic year 2015/ 2014, and the study sample consisted of (92)
assistant directors from both (Male, Female) who were selected randomly.
The questionnaire consisted of (34) items distributed into five domains:
originality, improvement of school environment, ability to solve problems,
teaching process and its improvement. The validity and reliability of the
instrument were verified. After analyzing the results using the statistical
method (SPSS) , they showed that the role of elementary school principals
in the development of creativity among teachers was low- grade, and there
were no statistical significant differences according to the variable gender,
qualifications and years of experience. The study recommended holding
training sessions for primary school principals to promote innovation,
creativity and a suitable environment.
