This aim of this study is to understand the extent to which national and
civic educational textbooks in the higher basic stage include the social effect
of using information and communication technology.
The population of the study consists of all the national and civic educational
textbooks in the higher basic stage, eighth, ninth and tenth in Jordan. To
achieve the purpose of the study, the researcher developed instruments that
include the following domains: The field of social and psychological effects,
the field of cultural relics, and the field of religious and moral implications.
The results showed that the number of times that the concept (the social
effect of using information and communication technology in the national
and civic educational textbooks in the higher basic stage) was repeated (73)
times, and most of these are in the field of religious and moral implications,
The study recommended to reconstruct terms and rely matrix of national
and civic educational textbooks in Jordan to cover social effect of using
information and communication technology in all textbooks in the light of
competent themes and units.
