Begging Phenomenon in Mafraq City from Social Studies Teachers Perspectives: Reasons and Solutions

Abstract

The study aims at identifying the reasons, the consequences of the
begging phenomenon and the suggested solutions.To achieve the aim of the
study, a semi-structured interviews were conducted with (30) social studies
teachers who were used to collect the required data at Mafraq city during the
academic year 2014/ 2015.A quantitative research was used to analyze data
by using Grounded Theory.The results of the study showed that there were
seven main reasons of begging phenomenon.The main reason was economic
represented by unemployment, and the last reason in rank was the political
represented by the Syrian refuges.The study recommended to conduct a
survey of poverty in Jordan and to expand of the rehabilitation of beggars in
Mafraq Governorate.
