The Effectiveness of a Training Program Based on Programmed Learning in Teaching Reading Skills for Students with Learning Disabilities at 4th grade.

This study aimed at identifying the effectiveness of a training program
based on programmed learning in teaching reading skills for the fourth
grade students with learning disabilities in Amman, fourth Amman teaching
governorate.
The sample of the study was selected purposively and consisted of (40)
female and male students; (20) female students and (20) male students and
divided into two groups: control and experimental. The experimental group
was taught by the computerized program and the control group was taught
by the traditional method.
The duration of the study was (6) weeks, three classes a week, each class
was (45) minutes, with a total of (18) classes. The researcher has prepared a
scale to examine reading skills. ANCOVA was used to examine the effect of
the program on the reading skills.
The results showed the following:
1. The results showed in general that the training program in this study
was effective in improving teaching the reading skills for students with
learning disabilities.
2. There were differences in the reading skills for the control and experimental
groups in favor of the experimental group due to the program.
3. There was no statistical significant effect for the interaction between the
