Abstract

This research aimed at investigating the effectiveness of horizontal and

vertical educational web sites designs on acquiring front page skills, selflearning

skills, and visual thinking for student teachers of Al- Aqsa University

in Palestine. The two researchers adopted the experimental approach. The

research sample consisted of two experimental groups, each included 40

male and female students. The two researchers used an observation check

list for measuring F. P skills, another for measuring self- learning skills and

visual thinking test. The results indicated the effectiveness of the two designs

on acquiring the skills besides the absence of a statistically significant

difference between the two designs in acquiring front page skills and visual

thinking. However, the vertical design was more effective in developing the

self- learning skills among the samples.
