The Quality of Psychological Life and Its Relationship with Psychological Happiness and Self-Worth among a Sample of Students at Prince Sattam bin Abdul-Aziz University

The present study aimed at revealing the nature of the relationship between the quality of psychological life and psychological happiness and self-worth. The study also aimed at exploring the difference between male and female students in regard to their quality of psychological life and psychological happiness and self-worth. The sample of the study consisted of 270 male and female students (160 male students to 110 female students) at Prince Sattam bin Abdul Aziz University. To achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher used scales for measuring the quality of psychological life, the psychological happiness, and the level of self-worth, after verifying the validity and reliability of these scales. Means, standard deviations, and Pearson correlation coefficients were used to address the study’s questions.The results of the study showed that the levels of quality of psychological life, psychological happiness and self-worth among the sample were high. The quality of psychological life scored the highest followed by psychological happiness and self-worth. There was a statistically significant correlation between quality of psychological life and psychological happiness and self-worth. Moreover, there were statistically significant differences between the averages of the students of the Faculty of Education and students of the Faculty of Science in the results of the scales of the study, in favor of the students of the Faculty of Science. the results showed no statistically significant differences between the averages of male and female students in the results of the scale of the quality of psychological life, unlike the scale of psychological happiness, which was in favor of male students. There were statistically significant differences between the male and female students’ averages in the scale of self-worth, in favor of females.
