The Role of Al-Quds Open University in the National Development

This study aimed at manifesting the role of Al – Quds Open University
in developing the Palestinian society. It also explained the circumstances
in which the University was established to be a response to the challenges
to which the Palestinian society was exposed. Moreover, it highlighted the
effective roles which the University played at the level of higher education
in Palestine and in the development of the Palestinian society at both the
economic and social levels. In so doing the study pinpointed the role of the
university in educating adults, women and developing the competencies of
Palestinian employees. It, furthermore, showed how the University alleviated
the financial pressure shouldered by the University enrollees. In addition,
the study elaborated on how the University managed to provide higher
education to all locations and areas in Palestine including the remotest ones.
