The Level of practicing National Values from the point of view of Students who Studied National Education Book at AL ALBYT University in Jordan

The purpose of this study is to know the level of national values practiced by students who studied the national education book at AL ALBYT University from the point of view of the students themselves. The study population included all students (about 1322) who studied the national education book in AL ALBYT University during the second semester of the academic year 2014. The researcher used the descriptive method and the sample of the study consisted of 400 male and female students who were chosen randomly upon the random stratified sampling method. To collect the study data, the researcher developed a questionnaire that contains (30) paragraphs divided into three areas: political values, social values, economic values. The results of the study show that the level of studying national education subject in AL ALBYT University was medium. Moreover, the study found that there were no statistically significant differences between the average responses of the sample study members to the level of achieving political and social values in national education subject at AL ALBYT University due to the gender variable. Additionally, there were statistically significant differences between the average responses of the sample study members for the level of achieving economic values in the national education subject in AL ALBYT University due to the difference in gender. Yet, there were no statistically significant differences between the average responses of study sample members for the level of achieving political values and social values and economic values in the national education subject at AL ALBYT University attributed to college variable. Based on the above findings, the study recommends that the national education course at the university should include voluntary activities that serve the local community, which would develop their citizenship values.
