Abstract

This study attempts to reveal the level of Metamemory skills and self-efficacy among KSU students. For this purpose, the researcher developed two scales: one for measuring the Meta-memory skills another for measuring self-efficacy. The sample of the study consisted of (360) students chosen randomly from Science and Arts colleges in KSU. The findings of the study indicated that the level of Metamemory skills and self-efficacy among KSU students was a moderate average level.  The findings of the study indicated that there were statistically significant differences in the level of Metamemory skills based on "memory strategies" according to the gender variable in favor of the male students. Moreover, there were statistically significant differences in the level of Metamemory skills based on the "satisfaction of memory" according to the type of specialization in favor of the scientific specialization. Additionally, the findings indicated that there is a statistically positive significant correlation between the scale of Metamemory skills and the self-efficacy scale. Finally, the findings of multiple regression analysis revealed that both the "memory strategies" and the "capacity (memory errors) contributed statistically to the prediction of self-efficacy among KSU students.
