Free reading among young people _ a field study in the College of Education at the University of Damascus

The research aims to investigate the status of
free reading among the students of the Faculty of
Education (classroom teacher) at the University of
Damascus.
To achieve aims of research a questionnaire
has designed consisting of 3l items and included
(29) items as indicators to know the reality of
free reading among the students of the Faculty of
Education (classroom teacher) at the University of
Damascus. This questionnaire was distributed to
a sample of them accounting for about 3 % of the
original community, which numbered 2474 students
in the academic year/ 2009- 2010
The research found that there were no
statistically significant differences in the average
answers of the study sample regarding the variables
of sex , and the school year.
