Abstract

The study aimed to identify the degree of
appreciation of mathematics teachers for their role
in instilling self- learning skills among students
with learning difficulties, and detect whether there
were statistically significant differences at the level
of significance (a≤0.05) between the average and
the estimated sample grades for this role because
of the variables: (sex, branch, years of service). To
achieve this, the researchers follow the descriptive
approach, and the application of a questionnaire
consisting of 33 items distributed on four areas:
(strategies and cognitive strategies beyond the
knowledge and strategies resources recruitment
management, and strategies mathematics effort) on
a sample of (88) teachers of mathematics who work
in the results of correction high school for 2015.
The study found that the total degree of mathematics
estimate of the role teachers to instill in students
learning skills with the organization of self- learning
difficulties was when (69.95% (Mathematics effort
strategies came in the first place the relative
weight (72.49%) , followed by the field of cognitive
strategies relative weight (71.82%) , then resource
management strategies employ the relative weight
(69.93%) , and finally came the field of strategies
beyond the knowledge in last place relative weight
(65.56%). There were no statistically significant
differences at the level of significance (a≤0.05)
between the mean scores estimate the participants
for their role in instilling learning difficulties selflearning
for students with skills that are attributable
to the branch variable, and the number of years of
service, but found differences related to gender, and
that in favor of males. In light of the findings, the
study recommended designing special programs for
students with learning disabilities in basic education,
in the field of self- organized learning strategies, to
reduce these difficulties at the secondary level.
