Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the effect of work pressures on the job satisfaction among workers working in the health sector in Ajloun – Jordan. The research population comprised 980 workers from the health sector in Ajloun-Jordan, whereas the study sample consisted of 368 workers. The researcher used Statistical Analysis Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) to analyze the data and come up with study findings and hypothesis testing. The research results showed that there is a significant impact related to the three variables including availability of resources, the work environment, rewards and incentives on job satisfaction. While there is no significant impact for work relationships on the job satisfaction. The results also showed an acceptable degree of job satisfaction for health sector workers. The study proposes a set of recommendations which focused on the preparation of training and rehabilitation programs that encourage employees to accept the work conditions. In addition, it focused on providing them with financial incentives and moral acknowledgement for their efforts and conducting further studies related to the topic discussed in this study, such as: the role of the Ministry of Health in reducing the psychological pressures that the employees of the health sector suffer from.
