The Effectiveness of Using 4MAT Model in the Development of Metacognitive Thinking in Mathematics Among 7th Grade Students in Palestine

The study aimed to explore the effectiveness of using the (4MAT) Model in the development of Metacognitive Thinking in mathematics among seventh grade students in Palestine. The study sample consisted of 55 students of the 7th grade in public schools in Tulkarm governorate, A sample of 28 students studied using the 4MAT model while the other 27 students followed typical method in studying. The results of the study showed that there were statistically significant differences at the significance level (a≥0.05) due to the teaching method in the skills of Metacognitive thinking (Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation). The results also showed that the effect size of the 4MAT Model of the experimental group students was big and reached (0.169، 0.693،0.51) respectively.
