The degree of teacher preparation programs in achieving social development aims

The study aimed to determine the degree
of contribution of English Language Teachers`
Preparation Programs in achieving the aims of social
development from the English language supervisors
& teachers` perspective. The researchers used the
descriptive method and constructed a questionnaire
to collect the data from the chosen sample which
was formed from all English language teachers and
supervisors at Allith educational governorate in
Saudi Arabia. The study was conducted during the
first semester of the current educational year (1436-
1437). The main findings of the study were: The
level of contribution of English language teachers`
preparation programs in achieving the objectives of
social development is a medium degree and also the
study proved that there were statistically significant
differences for the variables of the study (years of
experiences , current work) on the problem of the
study. The main recommendation of the study
was the importance of revising English language
teachers’ preparation programs on the light of
social development objectives.
