Job Involvement and its Relation to the Teachers’ Psychological Burnout at the Primary School in Al - Wusta Governorate – Gaza.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to identify the level of both job involvement and psychological burnout, and the relationship between them among the primary school’s teachers. The study seeks to identify the variance in the level of job involvement and psychological burnout of the study subjects in accordance with their gender and experience. To achieve the study objectives, two instruments were applied, the job involvement scale and psychological burn - out scale on a random stratified sample that consisted of (256) male and female teachers. The researcher adopted the descriptive analytical approach which was suitable with the nature of the study. After processing the data statistically, the study reached the following findings: The levels of psychological burnout and job involvement are medium. Moreover, there is a correlation between job involvement and psychological burnout. In addition, there are no statistically significant differences in the levels of psychological burnout and job involvement due to teachers’ gender and experience, in Al - Wusta Governorate – Gaza. The study recommended the need for increasing fund and moral support, and the need for increasing the level of educational efficiency and the need for developing psychosocial support programs for the teachers.
