Abstract

This study aimed at investigating the attitudes of Palestinian public school principals in Nablus Educational Directorate towards the use of ICT in their administrative work in addition to exploring the effect of some variables on these attitudes, and to identify the reality of this use, and the obstacles that hinder this use. The descriptive analysis approach was used with a random sample consisting of 94 male and female principals who responded to an interview and a questionnaire that covered two major domains in the first semester of 2018/2019. The results revealed that the school principals’ attitudes towards the use of ICT in their administrative work was very high in both domains of the questionnaire, and in the total degree of the attitudes, while there were statistically significant differences in these attitudes that can be attributed to overall evaluation of ICT skills. On the other hand, there were no statistically significant differences that can be attributed to the variables of gender, specialization, and school level. The study also revealed the reality of school principals’ use of ICT in their administrative work, and a number of obstacles that hinder school principals from using ICT in their administrative work.
