Abstract

The present study aimed to identify the effectiveness of counseling program in reducing psychological stress, improving the quality of life and improving the level of professional satisfaction among married female workers at Philadelphia University. The study was applied to all married female workers at Philadelphia University for the academic year 2018/2019, as a pre-test, who expressed a desire to participate in the study. The study sample consisted of female married workers who had a low score on both the quality of life scale and occupational satisfaction scale, and a high degree of psychological pressure scale, which was distributed into two control and experimental groups. The total number of the participants comprised 40 workers, 20 workers in each group where the experimental group received a program, while the control group was not exposed to any program. The MANCOVA analysis was used. The results of the statistical analysis indicated that there are statistically significant differences at the level (a ≤ 0.5) between the experimental group and the control group on the post-test of the quality of life scale, psychological pressure and occupational satisfaction measure attributable to the effectiveness of counseling program that was applied to the experimental group. In addition, the results indicated that there were no statistically significant differences at the level (a ≤0.5) between the members of the experimental group during the post scale and follow up period, which indicates the continuity of the program effectiveness.
