The Impact Of Using the Problem Solving Strategy while Teaching Civic Education on Developing Decision Making Skills among 10th Graders in Jordan.

This study aimed at investigating the effect of using the problem solving
strategy in teaching the citizenship education curricula on developing decision
taking skills among 10th grade students in Jordan.
Subjects of the study were (141) students who were selected from four
schools during the academic year 20082009/ and were assigned to two
groups; the experimental group consisted of (76) students (36 male, 40
female) and the control group which consisted of (65) students (30 male, 35
female). Data were collected using a decision making test which was prepared
by the researcher. Results of the study showed that there were statistically
significant differences (a=0.05) in developing decision taking skills in favour
of the experimental group; and male students. No differences were shown
among different achievement levels. Some recommendations were derived
according to the results
