The aim of this study is to explore the training needs in scientific research
for the members of the faculty at Al-Quds Open University in Palestine, and to
find out the relationship of each of the variables (gender, academic rank, specialization,
and years of experience) on the responses of the members of the study
sample toward, the training needs of scientific research for these members.
The researcher used the descriptive methodology due to its relevance
nature to the study. This method depended on a prepared questionnaire consisting
of five domains and it was distributed to a sample of (119) male and
female members of the faculty at Al-Quds Open University in Palestine, and
then the data were analyzed using the Averages of Balanced Means, Analysis
of Variance Unilateral, and (t test) and Test (LSD).
The results revealed that the highest averages were in the training needs
in the rules of publishing and documentation, followed by the training needs
in the methodology of scientific research, followed by the training needs in
reading statistical analysis, followed by the training needs in research rethodology,
and the lowest averages in the training needs was in computer skills.
The results also showed no statistical significant differences at the level
of (α = 0.05) in the responses of members of the study sample toward the
training needs of scientific research for members of the faculty at Al-Quds
Open University in Palestine due to the variables of gender, academic rank,
years of experience, although there were differences in Specialization variable.
The study has the following recommendations:
