A comparative study of the family climate among a sample of children of divorced and non-divorced people in Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorate schools

Objectives: The study aims to compare the family climate among a sample of children of divorced and non-divorced people in the schools of Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorate, and to investigate the differences according to some demographic variables.
Methodology: The study adopts the descriptive analytical approach, on a sample consisted of 300 children equally between the children of divorced people and the children of non-divorced people in Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorate schools, were selected in the most convenient way.
Results: The results show a moderate level of family climate among children of divorced people and non-divorced people had an average of (3.03), (3.23) respectively. The results also reveals that there are statistically significant differences due to respondent variable among children of divorced people and children of non-divorced people. The differences are in favor of children of non-divorced people. The results also revealed that there are no statistically significant differences in the family climate depending due to gender, while the differences are statistically significant among children of non-divorced people in favor of females. The results also show that there are statistically significant differences in the family climate and the areas: (control and family life system, family concern) among children of divorced people according to the economic level in favor of (high income (more than 3500 shekels)), while the differences are not significant among children of non-divorced people due to the economic level.
Conclusion: The study recommended conducting similar research to compare the family climate of children in early childhood between those with divorced parents and those with non-divorced parents.
