Objectives: The study aims to examine the correlational relationship between the trauma experienced by psychologists and their trauma-informed care skills during war crises. It seeks to identify the level of trauma and the degree of trauma-informed care skills during war crises.
Methodology: The study employs a correlational descriptive design. To achieve its objectives, the researchers developed and applied two scales: a trauma scale and a trauma-informed care skills during war crises scale. These scales were administered to a sample of 199 psychologists, selected using a convenience sampling method.
Results: The results indicate an average score on the trauma scale for the overall trauma level of 3.55, corresponding to71%. On the subscales of the trauma measure, the level of trauma-informed care skills was 3.96corresponding to 27.9%. Furthermore, the results reveal no significant correlation between trauma and trauma-informed care skills among psychologists. Additionally, the findings indicate no statistically significant differences in the mean scores of trauma and trauma-informed care skills and their domains based on gender, with the exception of the intervention skills domain in trauma-informed care. The results also highlight statistically significant differences in the level of trauma and its domains among psychologists based on the variable of residence location, favoring the southern provinces on the trauma scale. However, no statistically significant differences were found in the mean scores on the trauma-informed care skills scale based on this variable.
Conclusion: The results recommend paying attention to the issue of psychological trauma experienced by psychologists in areas affected by crises and wars.
