Content Analysis of the Science Curriculum in accordance with the Requirements of (TIMSS) at the 4th Grades in the Palestinian Schools.

This study aimed to analyze the content of the science book for the fourth
primary grade in accordance with the requirements of the trends in (TIMSS)
orientations study, and to identify the similarities and differences in the areas
of content and mental processes.The study population consists of all subjects
contained in the (9) units of the science book for fourth primary grade,
which is composed of two parts, (I and II) , adopted in Palestinian schools,
comprising sections which included (34) topics.The researcher adopted the
analysis content model in accordance with the project requirements (TIMSS)
in 2011 and performed the analysis in two phases to check the reliability of
the analysis process, which amounted to (95%) .The study concluded with
several results, including that the content of science book for fourth grade in
terms of content and mental processes is not compatible with the requirements
of (TIMSS) .There are also various topics in the content of the textbook that
do not belong to the requirements of the (TIMSS) .
