Abstract

The aim of the study was to investigate the differences of self efficacy

among a sample of Jordanian students at Yarmouk University with hearing

impairment in the light of the variables by gender and hearing impairment

severity. The sample of the study consisted of (57) students “28 male, 29

female” selected by using purposeful sampling from Yarmouk University

students. To collect data, a self efficacy measure was used. The results of the

study indicated that levels of self- efficacy among hearing impaired students

was moderate. Significant differences were found in levels of self- efficacy

due to severity of impairment, in favor of simple hearing impaired students,

while no significant differences were found due to gender. In the light of these

results, the study recommends university personnel to provide more care for

these students population in order to enable them face their future encounters

and difficulties based on their abilities. Future research investigating other

variables and other students population is needed
