Abstract

 

The present study aimed at the identification of the contribution of the

teachers of Sciences, Social studies and Islamic Education to the enhancement

of the communicative skills of basic tenth graders in Bani Kinana the

Educational Directorate and the effect of the variables gender, specialization

variables as well as their interaction between them.

The study was administered on a sample consisting of 22 male teachers

and 23 females (15) teachers from each group, totaling 45 chosen randomly

from basic tenth graders schools.

The researchers developed and administered a questionnaire of 26 items;

each item representing certain teaching technique related to the given major

skill.The items were rated on a three level scale pointing the contribution

level of the teachers to the enhancement of the target skill of the students.

The results showed significant effects of the subject teachers in improving

the three communicative skills, with speaking first, reading second, and writing

third.The results also revealed a statically significant effect at (&=0.05) on

the improvement of conversation due to specialization, namely the teachers

of Social Studies and Islamic Education.In addition, improvement in reading

was statistically significant at (&=0.05) due to sex, the female teachers

outperformed the male teachers, meanwhile

no statistically significant effect was shown due to the interaction between

sex and specialization
