The Role of Schools in Environmental Education from the Perspective of School Teachers in Salfeet Governorate.

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the role of schools in education and

spreading awareness of ecology for school students in Salfeet Governorate

from teachers’ viewpoint.

To test the study hypothesis, the researcher used the analytical descriptive

methodology including statistical package for social sciences (SPSS) , and

the study revealed:

♦ There is a large role of schools in education and spreading awareness

of ecology for school students in Salfeet Governorate from teachers

viewpoint at statistical level (α≤0.05)

♦ There is an effect for sex variable on teachers responding about the role

of schools in education and in spreading awareness of ecology and Salfeet

Governorate for female teachers at statistical level (α≤0.05) .

♦ There is no effect of variables (Age, Residence Location, marital status,

scientific qualification, and experience) on teachers responding about the

role of schools in education and in spreading the awareness of ecology

for schools students in Salfeet Governorate at statistical level (α≤0.05) .

♦ There is no effect for the academic stage (low elementary, high elementary,

secondary) on teachers responding about the role of schools in education

in spreading awareness of ecology for schools students in Salfeet

Governorate at statistical level (α≤0.05) .In the light of study results

the researcher recommends:

Urge to activate the role of schools in the ecological awareness

dissemination.

Urge to include ecological education curriculum for different academic

stages in order to clarify the importance of ecology to the students.
