The Use of the Conflict Management Strategies by the Educational Supervisors in the Northern Directorates of Education in Palestine from the Perspective of the Educational Supervisors.

The study aimed at identifying the degree of the educational supervisors’
use of the conflict management strategies in the directorates of northern
Palestine in term of the supervisors’ point of view.The population of the
study consisted of (242) female and male supervisors, while the study sample
consisted of (155) female and male supervisors.For the purposes of the study,
the researcher designed a questionnaire consisting of (36) items distributed
on six strategies: cooperation strategy for dealing with organizational
conflict, the strategy of the settlement, the strategy for referral to a higher
level, the strategy for courtesy, the strategy of avoidance, and the strategy
of using power to deal with organizational conflict.The processes of validity
and reliability were conducted, and the reliability variable for the strategies
ranged between (0,38- 0,87) , and the questionnaire’s total reliability
coefficient- resolution was (0.83) , a high reliability coefficient which fulfills
the purposes of the study.
The results of the study showed that:
♦♦ The degree of use of the supervisors for the strategies of conflict management
in school districts in the directorates of the north of Palestine, from their
point of view was significantly in favor of these strategies: cooperation,
settlement, referral to a higher level, courtesy while their use of strategies
of avoidance and the use of power was of a fair degree.
♦♦ There are no statistically significant differences at the level of significance
(α ≤ 0.05) due to the following variables: sex of supervisor, experience,
qualifications, and specialization and job.
♦♦ There are statistically significant differences at the level of significance
(α ≤ 0.05) due to the Directorate of Education (place of work) and the
differences between the Qabatiya, Jenin, Nablus, Qalqilya, Salfit, Tubas
were in favor of Qabatiya, and there are differences between the south of
Nablus, Qalqilya, Tubas, in favor of south Nablus.
In light of the research results, the researcher recommends designing a
training program for the educational supervisors which has to conclude the
aspect of conflict management strategies.
