The Effectiveness of Institutions and Centers that Specialize in Special Education and Autism in Jordan, and Their Commitment to the International Standards.

The aim of this study was to assess the effectiveness of institutions and
centers of special education according to international standards.The sample
of study consisted of (53) Jordanian centers and institutions which provide
educational programs and services for children with autism.A checklist was
developed to assess the level of the educational programs and services which
consisted of (77) items distributed to (8) domains.Results showed that there
was only one domain out of eight which had a high efficiency level, namely,
programs and services, while the other three domains had medium efficiency
levels which are: educational environment, assessment, and administration
and staff.The other four domains had lower efficiency levels which are: vision
and mission, family support, inclusion and transitional services, and selfassessment.
