The Requirements needed for the Application of Knowledge Management in Omani Ministry Higher of Education as Viewed by Administrators of middle Level Management

The study aims to know the requirements for the application of knowledge management in Omani ministry higher of education as viewed by administrators of middle level management. The study also aims to know the variables of sex, job title, age, academic qualification and years of experience in the current job. To achieve the aim of the study, the researcher prepared the study tool which is a questionnaire of 36 items covering four fields. These areas are: knowledge generation, knowledge dissemination, knowledge storage, and knowledge application. After proving the reliability and validity of the study tool, it has been applied on the study sample of 52 personnel from the medium level administration. Data were collected and analyzed using the means, Standard Deviations, T-test for one group and the T-test for two independent groups, one-way analysis of variance to know the significance of the differences among some variables.
The study results have shown the significance of the four fields of knowledge generation, knowledge application, knowledge dissemination and knowledge storage respectively. As for the effect of the variables, the results have revealed that there are no statistically significant differences for the requirements for the application of knowledge management in the Ministry of Higher Education in Oman from the point of view of the administrators in the middle level management in the variables of sex, job title, age, academic qualification and the number of experience years in the present job.
In the light of these results, the study has made some recommendations including:
The study stresses the importance of preparing lectures and training courses for all Ministry of Higher Education staff to make them aware of the importance of the application of the requirements of knowledge management. This will help to broaden their understanding of this application in terms of knowledge and practice.
