The Employment Of Digital Video (YouTube) And Its Impact On Actual Training Needs In Higher Education Institutions

This study aimed to shed light on faculty members real skills in Palestinian higher education institutions, In employing Digital Video "YouTube "In their teaching process, to determine the impact of digital video's skills "YouTube" to identify training needs, then assess the size of training gap in this knowledge at two levels (Immediate and Strategic level). The researcher followed the descriptive analytical approach. Study population was composed of a group of Palestinian university Lecturers. The researcher used the purpose sample, which consisted of (190) faculty member,A total of 183 responses were retrieved with a retrieval rate of 96.3%. A questionnaire was constructed consisting of 47 paragraphs to achieve the objectives of the study. The most important results of the study that faculty members have a medium degree of digital video skills, except the “skill group to add comments” which showed a poor level of skill.The results showed that a high level of willingness to undergo training courses in the field of professional digital video processing as a support tool for the educational process.The study recommended to design a database for “skills inventory” so that the specialized skills of faculty members can be computerized.
