The Effectiveness of Employing Digital Classrooms in Developing the Skills of Using Some Google Educational Applications in the Computerizing Educational Curriculum Course at al-Aqsa University Students in Gaza

Abstract

The study aimed to identify the effectiveness of employing the digital classrooms on the development skills and cognitive performance of Google's educational applications on the course of computerizing at al-Aqsa University students in Gaza. The study adopted quasi-experimental design. The sample consisted of 42 students divided into two groups, 22 students studied using the traditional method and 20 using the digital classrooms method. The study tools were applied on the two study samples. The results revealed that there were statistically significant differences on the sample performance on the achievement test and the checklist, due to the teaching method in favorite of the experimental group. The effect size of the achievement test was 1.53, the checklist was  1.7 and the two values are greater than the Black Gain Factor (1.2). These results reflected the effectiveness of the digital classes on developing the skills and knowledge of Google educational applications among al-Aqsa University students. The study reached a set of recommendations, including the use of free applications for digital classrooms and encouraging faculty members to employ digital classrooms in teaching and learning.
