The Contribution of Open University Education in Empowering Young Women as Seen by the Graduates in Hebron Educational Region.

This study aims to identify the Contribution of Open University Education
in Empowering Young Women Seen by Graduates in Hebron Education
Region. The descriptive method was used in this study. Where the population
of the study consisted of (1499) graduate, who graduated between 1997-2005
from Al- Quds Open University/ Hebron Region-Palestine.
A sample of (102) graduate was chosen. To achieve the goal of the study
a questionnaire was developed according to the literature review. The validity
& the reliability were computed. The Study finds that all the response to all
domains was high, no significant statistical differences were found due to the
following variables; field of specialization, residence, computer and English
language skills. In the other hand significant differences were found in the
personal & leadership skills, and financial domain between the married and
single graduate to the benefit of married. In the financial domain differences
were found between employed graduates & self employed to the benefit of
employed. In the other hand significant differences were found between
institutional managers & self employed graduate to the benefit of institutional
managers. In the political domain differences were found between employed
graduates & managers to the benefit of the employed. In the knowledge
domain differences were found between employed graduates & self employed
to the benefit of employed. Differences were found between managers & & self
employed to the benefit of managers. In the qualification variable differences
were found between BS. Graduate and MS. to the benefit of MS.
Finally the study concluded with following recommendations: Improving
English language skills by giving special courses to young women. Creating
cultural programs to enhance young women self confidence, to enable her to
get assume high position.
