The preparation of an educational medium, quality assuranceAbstract
As the concept of open education and distance learning is becoming more
and more popular, the need for preparing appropriate and effective media is
becoming more and more urgent, for the two cannot be separated from each
other.
This paper will shed light on the importance of educational media in the
distance learning process. It will tackle the different phases the educational
media has come through during the last twenty years, comparing each phase
features. It will also set several considerations for choosing the appropriate
medium for the educational material mentioning the different forms the medium
could have.
The preparation for the educational medium goes through three stages. In
these stages the quality and efficiency of the medium should be taken into
consideration, so that the student will get the ultimate benefit of it. Al Quds
Open University has its own experience in this field since it was first
established.
This paper will tackle all these issues ending with a proposal for organizing
the distribution of Al Quds Open University educational media.
