Evaluating E-Courses at the Open University of Sudan in the Light of the Criteria for the Quality of E-Courses

This study aimed to evaluate e-courses at the Open University of Sudan
in the light of the criteria for the quality of e-courses, as well as to identify
quality standards e-courses at the Open University of Sudan. In order to
achieve the objectives of the study and answer its questions the researchers
used the descriptive analytical method by designing a questionnaire to collect
data.
The study population consisted of e-courses at the Open University of
Sudan, but the sample was selected randomly and represented in (32) e-course
offered by the Faculty of Graduate Studies.
The study has a number of results:
1. The researchers prepared a list which represents quality standards of
e-courses at the Open University of Sudan that came in (5) main axes
under (5) standard and (68) sub-indicators.
2. All criteria of quality that have been reached in this study in the e-courses
at the Open University of Sudan.
3. Standards that e-courses at the Open University of Sudan include
(objectives, learning outcomes, courses characterization, multimedia and
Student Affairs) are met with a high degree; the standard of teaching and
learning methods is achieved moderately.
The study also concluded a number of recommendations including:
1. Studying the impact of the use of e-courses in distance education on,
some of the different learning outcomes such as achievement, and the
acquisition of skills, motivation, and direction.
2. Taking advantage of the list of criteria for quality e-courses that have
been reached in this study (such as goals, learning outcomes and student
affairs) in providing electronic content submitted to systems of distance
and open education.
