Assessing the Capabilities of the Faculty Members in E- Learning at Al- Quds Open University from their Viewpoint

This study aimed to assess the capabilities of the faculty members in
e- learning at Al- Quds Open University, and recognize the reality of those
capabilities in the light of a number of variables. The study population
consisted of all faculty members at Al- Quds University in the second semester
of the academic year 2013- 2014. It is worth mentioning that the total number
of them is (1709) faculty members. The researcher used a stratified random
sample according to the faculties of the university. The random sample
included (573) faculty members, i. e. , (33%) of the study population.
The researchers developed a questionnaire which included a number
of independent variables; it also included (8) axes that have (118) sections.
After application and data collection of the study, the results of the study were
indicating that the total score for the faculty members in the e- learning field
at the University was high; And the results of the study indicated that there
is a presence of statistically significant differences at the level of significance
(a=0.05) in the capacity of faculty members in the field of e- learning at
Al- Quds Open University attributed to the following variables: college,
practical experience in e- learning field, and the number of training courses
and interactive workshops. The study results indicated a lack of statistically
significant differences in their abilities due to the variable of qualification.
The researchers recommended organizing a number of training courses using
self- running e- training pattern. Some of them will be optional for the faculty
members, and some compulsory according to the importance of the subject
and the faculty members’ needs
