The Level of the Husbands’ support for their Wives Enrolled at Al- Quds Open University according to some Variables.
Keywords:
Support of husbands, academic achievement motivationAbstract
The study aimed to identify the level of husbands’ support for their
wives enrolled at Al- Quds Open University according to some variables.
In addition, it tried to determine whether there was a statistically significant
relationship between the level of husbands’ support for their wives and these
variables: family income. Cumulative average and academic achievement
motivation. To achieve the objectives of the study, a questionnaire consisting
of three sections was designed: the first section related to variables of the
study; the second is related to the level of support that husbands offer to
their wives enrolled at Al- Quds Open University; and the third section
was devoted to measure the level of academic achievement motivation. The
questionnaire has been distributed to a simple random of (400) wives joining
the university as students. (378) copies of the questionnaire were restored.
The data were analyzed through the use of the program statistical package
of social sciences (SPSS) . The results showed that the level of support from
husbands to their wives enrolled at Al- Quds Open University was high, and
that there are significant differences in the level of support according to the
variables (specialization, and level of education of the husbands) . Results did
not prove the existence of statistically significant differences in the level of
support according to the variables (marital age, marital status, and number
of family members) , but they showed the existence of statistically significant
relationship between the level of support provided by husbands to their wives
enrolled at Al- Quds Open University and the level of household income, the
cumulative average and academic achievement motivation. In the light of the
results of the study, the researchers recommended that there is a need to have
multiple sources of support for married students.
