The purpose of this study was to know the size of the administrative, technical (scientific & pedagogic), and linguistic problems that face students who study the Graduation Project Course in the Education Program at Al Quds Open University from their perspective.
The study also explored the impact of sex, age, type of experience, and the accumulative average variables on the size of the problems that face the students.
The study was conducted on a random stratified sample of 115 students of the Graduation Project Course in the Educational Program in the second semester of the academic year 2005/2006. A questionnaire was developed by the researcher to collect the sample opinions on the problems of the course. The descriptive analytical methodology was adopted for this study. The study concluded with the following results:
1. The biggest administrative problems that students faced in studying the Graduation Project Course was the lack of a good library in the educational region / center , the lack of any prior experiences in practicing research , and the high load of courses including the Graduation Course the students register for in the semester .
2. The biggest technical (scientific & pedagogic) problems that the students face in the course were the weakness in using the appropriate statistical methods, and the weakness in differentiating between types of research as well.
3. The size of the linguistic problems the students face in the course were medium. However, the biggest problem was the weakness of students in the essential grammatical rules in Arabic.
4. There was not any effect for the sex , age , and " accumulative average " variables on the size of the problems the students face in studying the course , but the only effect was for the " type of experience " variable , especially " experience in teaching " on the size of the problems the students face .
Finally, the researcher proposed some recommendations to treat the results found in the study.
