The Obstacles of Academic Achievement for the Two Courses of Health & Science and their Methodologies 1 and 2 Courses At Al Quds Open University& Their Relation To Students’ Attitudes towards Learning and Teaching Science

Abstract

The current study aimed at determining the obstacles of academic

achievement for the two courses of Health & Science and their Methodologies

1 and 2 courses at Al Quds Open University. It also aimed at identifying Teaching

their relation to students’ attitudes toward learning and teaching science. To

achieve this goal, the researcher prepared two study tools: a questionnaire

for determining the achievement obstacles and an attitude measure towards

learning and teaching sciences. These tools were conducted on a sample of

(119) students from both sexes. The following statistical methods were used

in analyzing data: the mean.، standard deviation، T - test، Person correlation

coefficient، and F - test.

The study results showed that there are obstacles of high level among

the two sexes irrespective of the Tawjihi Stream (scientific & literary). They

also showed that there is a positive attitude toward learning and teaching

sciences among sample members، and a negative attitude toward, the study

environment، also there is a correlation between the achievement obstacles

and the attitude toward, learning and teaching sciences. In the end of the

study, the researcher presented a number of recommendations
