Abstract

The present study aimed to identify the
technical and technological difficulties faced by the
faculty members of Al - Quds Open University in the
use of Academic Portal. It also aimed to examine
the significance of the differences between the mean
degree of the difficulty according to the variables
of gender, college, professional status, years of
experience and educational qualifications.
To achieve the objectives of the study, the study
tool ,after confirming its reliability and validity
,was applied on a sample of 185 faculty members,
selected by a stratified sample manner , from all the
teaching branches of Al - Quds Open University
faculty members (Bethlehem, Hebron, Dura, and
Yatta) through the second semester of the academic
year 2014/ 2015.
The results showed that the degree of
technological and technical difficulties faced by
faculty members of Al - Quds Open University in
the use of the Academic Portal came in general
medium. It turns out that the field of "technological
and technical difficulties" came in first place,
followed by the field of "obstacles to use,". Results
also show a statistically significant differences at (α
≤ 0. 05) between the mean degree of technological
and technical difficulties faced by faculty members
of Al - Quds Open University in the use of Academic
Portal according to college variable in favor of the
colleges of education, management and agriculture
and according to the variable of professional status
in favor of full - time faculty members, Whereas the
differences were not significant according to the
variables of gender and years of experience.
