Psychological Resilience and its relationship with work stress From the point of view of special education teachers in Gaza Governorates

This study aimed to identify the psychological resilience and work stress for special education teachers at special education schools in Gaza Governorates, and to identify the level of these variables, the extent of the relationship of psychological resilience with the work stress, as well as to identify the differences in each of the psychological resilience scale and work stress scale due to the variables: gender, disability trail with which it deals with, and the labor sector in which it operates.
The sample of the study consisted of (97) teachers of mental disabilities course, hearing impairment course, visual impairment course, in the second semester of the academic year 2015/2016. The researcher used the psychological withstand a scale prepared by (Oshio, Kaneko, Nagamine, & Nakaya, 2003).
It was translated and localized by (Shaheen, 2013). He also used the work stress scale among special education teachers in the Gaza Strip prepared by (Abu Mustafa & Zein, 2009). In addition, he used for treating findings of the study the following statistical methods: the means, the weight, Pearson correlation coefficient, Mann - Whitney test, and Kruskal Wallis test.
Results of the study showed the following:
- The sample of study possessed a moderate level of psychological resilience, and a high level of work stress.
- There were statistically significant differences in the total score of the psychological resilience scale due to the variables of gender in favor of males, and the employment sector in favor of teachers working in the public sector. The study did not show any statistically significant differences due to the variable disability trail that dealt with special education teachers.
- There were statistically significant differences in the total score of the work stress scale due to the variable disability trails that teachers treat with in favor of teachers who were working with mental disabilities trail. The study did not show any statistically significant differences due to the variables of gender and the labor sector.
- There was strong inverse correlation relationship between psychological resilience and work stress for special education teachers
